Method

  1. Step 1Brown the meat5 min

    Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and fry the ground meat until lightly browned. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook for a few minutes.

    Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another 2–3 minutes.

  3. Step 3Add sauce and seasonings

    Add the tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried garlic. Stir well and let everything simmer for a few minutes.

  4. Step 4Cook the rice

    Add the rice and enough water to cover it. Mix well, cover with a lid, and cook until the rice is almost done. Add more water if needed.

    Note

    The rice should be tender but still have a slight bite, as it will finish cooking in the oven.

    Meanwhile, cut the bell peppers in half and place them on a baking tray. Fill each pepper with the meat and rice mixture.

    Cover the tray with foil and bake until the peppers are tender.

    Note

    Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes, or until the peppers are soft.

  7. Step 7Add cheese and finish10 min

    Remove the foil, sprinkle the peppers with grated cheese, and return them to the oven. Bake until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
