Method

  1. Step 1Boil the potatoes

    Peel and cut the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until tender.

    Note

    You can pass the cooked potatoes through a ricer for an extra-smooth mash.

    Drain the cooked potatoes and mash them until smooth. Add butter and mix until creamy.

    For the smoothest mash, press through a fine sieve or use a ricer.

    Cook the Swedish sausages in a pan over medium heat until browned and cooked through.

    Thinly slice the cucumber, then toss with salt and dill. Let sit briefly to pickle lightly.

    Note

    A mandoline works best for uniform thin slices.
