Method

  1. Step 1Caramelize the onions

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and a little sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft, golden, and caramelized. Set aside.

  2. Step 2Smash the beef patties

In the same pan, add the minced beef in portions. Smash the beef into thin patties using a spatula. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook until a crust forms and the patties are cooked through, then flip.

    Note

Use 80/20 beef for juicy patties. The same pan gives the sauce more flavour.

  3. Step 3Top with cheese

Top the cooked patties with American cheese slices and let them melt. Then take the patties out of the pan.

  4. Step 4Make the garlic Parmesan sauce

In the same pan, add chopped garlic and a little milk and double cream. Stir in red chili flakes, parsley powder, salt, and oregano. Stir until the sauce is creamy and begins to thicken. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

  6. Step 6Dip and serve

Pour the garlic Parmesan sauce into a shallow bowl or plate. Dip the assembled burgers straight into the sauce and serve with french fries on the side, if desired. Sprinkle extra Parmesan over the top.

    Note

Completely unnecessary, but absolutely worth it.
