  3. Step 3Prepare garlic bread base

Mix softened butter with grated garlic (parsley optional). Slice bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter evenly (optionally, you can bake it in the oven (400°F (200°C)) for 10 minutes before adding all the layers).

    Note

Optionally bake the buttered bread for 10 minutes before adding toppings for a crispier base.

  5. Step 5Bake until golden14 min

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 13–15 minutes, until cheese melts and edges turn golden. Optional: broil 1–2 minutes for color.

    Note

Broil for 1–2 minutes at the end for extra color and crispiness.

  6. Step 6Mix ranch dressing

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream or greek yogurt, milk or buttermilk, grated garlic, lemon juice or white vinegar, dried dill, dried parsley, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.

    Note

Greek yogurt works as a lighter substitute for sour cream. Buttermilk adds a tangier flavor than regular milk.
