Method

  1. Step 1Prepare the sardine tin

    Open the sardine tin. Fold a paper towel once and place it centered on the open tin, pressing it in slightly so it absorbs the oil.

    Light the paper towel at the corners and carefully set it aside for 4-5 minutes. Best performed outdoors, on a balcony, or with an open window.

    Note

    Be careful with open flame! This method is not intended for regular use.

  3. Step 3Toast the bread

    Meanwhile, toast the bread slices with a little olive oil. Finely chop the chives.

    Spread mustard on the bread slices and dip them in chives.

    After 4-5 minutes, place a suitable vessel over the sardine tin to extinguish the flame. Caution: the tin is now hot. Carefully remove the paper towel remains.
