Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Guston account, operated by Nikita Belopotapov, and what happens to your data when you do.

In the app

Open Settings → Accounts → Delete account and confirm. The path is the same on iOS and Android. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Without the app

If you have already uninstalled Guston, write to welcome@guston-app.com from the email address your account uses and ask us to delete it. We answer within 30 days. We may have to ask you something that confirms the account is yours before we delete it — nobody should be able to delete your account by writing to us about it.

What is deleted

• Your account and the sign-in link to Apple or Google.
• Your profile: name, avatar, bio, and the cooking, diet and allergen preferences you set.
• The recipes you created that nobody else has saved, along with your collections, shopping list and saved recipes.
• Your push-notification tokens, so notifications stop.

What stays

• Recipes other people have saved.They remain in the Service with your identifier removed, because we cannot take content out of someone else’s collection.
• Media on a claimed creator page. If you claimed a creator profile, images we copied to our storage may stay on recipes other users saved.
• Backups roll over on their own schedule, so deleted data can persist in them for a short period.
