Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Guston account, operated by Nikita Belopotapov, and what happens to your data when you do.

In the app

Open Settings → Accounts → Delete account and confirm. The path is the same on iOS and Android. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Without the app

If you have already uninstalled Guston, write to welcome@guston-app.com from the email address your account uses and ask us to delete it. We answer within 30 days. We may have to ask you something that confirms the account is yours before we delete it — nobody should be able to delete your account by writing to us about it.

What is deleted

• Your account and the sign-in link to Apple or Google.
• Your profile: name, bio, avatar, and the cooking, diet and allergen preferences you set.
• Your saved recipes, your shopping list, and your collections — including public ones.
• The recipes you kept private.
• Your push-notification tokens, so notifications stop.
• Who you follow and who follows you, anyone you blocked, and any reports you filed.
• Your import history — the links you sent us to import.
• Your usage records: AI quota and processing records, debugging records of the text you sent us, view history, and any invite or reward records.
• Any feedback you sent us, including the email address and the message.
• Your name as the author on the recipes you created.

What stays

• The public recipes you created. They remain in Guston without an author.
• Recipes other people saved.They are unaffected — we cannot take content out of someone else’s collection.
• A creator page you claimed.The page, the images we copied to our storage, and the page’s settings stay. Only its link to your account is removed, and the page becomes available to claim again.
• Your profile photo file. The link to it is removed from your profile, but the image file itself remains in our storage and can still be opened by anyone who already has its direct address.
• Backups roll over on their own schedule, so deleted data can persist in them for a short period.
